Warmth
The gel was warm, a breath away from the temperature of skin. The therapist's body slid slowly along her back, the weight even, nothing sudden, nothing that overstepped. At first she was still tense, her fingers gripping the mat; then, little by little, they opened.
It is hard to describe: like being wrapped entirely in warm water, or like returning to an age when no defenses were needed. She heard herself let out one long breath — as if she had exhaled a whole season of grievances along with it.
This is how trust is built
Halfway through, the therapist paused and asked in a low voice: Is this all right? She nodded, and the tears fell first — not sadness, but the aftershock of being treated with genuine care. She understood all at once: what this place sells is not technique. It is a sense of measure.
After that day, she made the booking a fixed one: every two weeks, written into the calendar, immovable. Her assistant asked what meeting it was. She said: The board. Except the only item on the agenda is me.
